The Lemelson Foundation had ambitious sustainability goals for their new office space, including a Zero Carbon Certification from the Living Future Institute. This goal required the Foundation to offset the embodied carbon from construction, and operational carbon from its ongoing energy use. We worked with Cascadia Community Energy and the owner of the building that the office space would occupy to craft an agreement that provided clean, renewable energy for our space, while saving the building owner money on electricity costs.”
